Soloshow at BO
Paintings and Couture. Aging and vulnerability. Old Body
On 7 March 2020, Terje Nicolaisen had a severe prolapse which led to a long-term locking in the lower back. Usually such pains disappear after a couple of weeks, but as the country shut down at the same time and thus also Terje's permanent fitness center and sauna, the prolapse stuck and the prolific artist has to date walked with his back in an angle, with the consequent reduced work capacity. Nevertheless, Nicolaisen has produced 20 new paintings in which the contradictory, aging and vulnerable body has become a recurring theme, in an attempt to overcome the body's relentless limitations. As Terje Nicolaisen himself puts it: "All I can think about now is dancing!"
In addition, Nicolaisen has played with estimates for a new clothing collection under the brand name NO. Collection consists of dresses, T-shirts, shawls and ties where some can be worn, while others are more sculptural.

Rentsnuk Dancing er et stedsspesifikt verk som har en ubeskjeden intensjon om å endre BOA til en organisasjon for enda flere av Oslos tusenvis av kunstnere? Hvorfor er det nesten ingen som veit hvor BOA ligger? BOA må styrkes og arbeidet begynner med medlemmene.
Dette langsiktige arbeidet begynner med å engasjere kunstnere i Oslo og tilrettelegge for at vi kan bruke Anatomibygningen også til å møtes. Vi står på atelierene alene (takk og lov) menvi trenger et sted å gå til for å treffe kolleger. Ikke for å diskutere Adorno, men for å snakke om alt mulig annet.
RD er et forslag til BOA, fra en av medlemmene, om at vi burde bruke lokalene også til å treffes. Om det blir dansing eller ikke er sekundært.

Rentsnuk Dancing is a site-specific work that has an unabashed intention to change BOA into an organization for even more of Oslo's thousands of artists? Why does almost nobody know where BOA is located? BOA must be strengthened and the work begins with the members.
This long-term work begins with engaging artists in Oslo and arranging for us to use the Anatomy Building to meet. We stand in the studios alone (thank goodness) but we need somewhere to go to meet colleagues. Not to discuss Adorno, but to talk about everything else.
RD is a proposal to BOA, from one of the members, that we should also use the premises to meet. Whether there will be dancing or not is secondary.
