This idea is very simple; together with my son Syver, we took apples from the garden of Art Collector and Mesén Rolf M Stenersen (1899 - 1978). These apples would - like most apples on this part of town - fall down and rot in the autumn, because no-one wants to pick them (it doesn't really pay).

Stenersen had supported a lot of artist in his lifetime, among them Edvard Munch and Ludvig Karsten. Nowadays, these kind of collectors are rare.

By making sweet Apple Pulp out of "his" apples I created a last gesture from this generous man to artists living today (me).

His elegantly designed functionalist villa ( Architect Arne Korsmo) is still situated on the west part of Oslo and is open to public every Sunday.

A part of the first installment of MOLAF - Museum Of Longing And Failure, an art project by Andrew Taggart + Chloe Lewis

The Museum of Longing and Failure (MOLAF) is a collecting entity with a focus on small-scale object-based works. The MOLAF takes shape through a sustained conversation with living artists and collectives, whose contributed sculptures form the basis of exhibitions, interventions, publications, and the production of new objects by the MOLAF itself. Exploring a fluidity between institution, artwork, and author, the MOLAF strives to continually interrogate its own structure, identity, and capacity to both support its collection and generate new working methodologies.
The MOLAF is founded and operated by Andrew Taggart + Chloe Lewis.
